Beaches and sports
15 kilometers of beach stretch out before you, with supervised beaches for swimming (not only recommended for children) and attractive surfing, kite and sailing spots.
Just behind the beach, the forest with a vast bicycle path of more than 100 km and hiking trails makes you discover a wild and preserved nature.

Lake of Carcans-Hourtin
With 6000 ha, the lake of Carcans-Hourtin is the largest natural freshwater lake in France. It offers a 2 km long beach in Maubuisson, a sheltered eastern shore and small beaches hidden in the conches to the west. The lake is surrounded by dunes and forests and its environmental quality gives it a rich heritage and protected species.
Dune of Pilat
The dune of Pilat is one of the classified sites of France. With a height of 110 meters, a width of 600 meters and a length of 3 km, the highest dune in Europe offers a striking contrast on the forest, the sand and the ocean. But did you know that this monument is constantly changing? Under the action of the wind, it moves from 1 to 5 meters towards the forest.
Bordeaux
Describing Bordeaux in a few words is difficult. It is sparkling with many beautiful places and it is about 50 km from Lacanau.
