Activities and Explorations

The region is ideal for cycling. There are bike paths all along the coast and toward Bordeaux.
-
The tourist office offers a variety of hiking trails.
-
Absolutely—the beach is just a short walk away (about 400 m).
For a more wild and secluded experience, you can walk through the forest to the north and cross the dune to reach deserted beaches.
Warning: Atlantic currents are strong—swim with caution!
Plus, the large lake (Étang de Lacanau) is nearby: lively on theMoutchic side, quieter and family-friendly in theLongarisse coves.Info here. -
Surfing is, of course, the main activity!
But cycling is also fantastic thanks to the extensive network of bike paths (Piste Cyclable), built along the old railroad tracks and leading in all directions—even as far as Bordeaux.
In addition, there are two golf courses nearby, a tennis/squash/padel club, a mini-golf course, and a wide range of water sports onthe Étang de Lacanau(sailing, canoeing, stand-up paddleboarding, etc.). -
Exactly! A 30-minute drive or a 1-hour-and-30-minute bus ride—perfect for a half-day trip. Here are our tips.
Comfort and Well-Being
-
The house is about 120 m² and has 4 bedrooms, each sleeping 2 people. We think it’s perfect for 6 people—but 8 people can also stay there very comfortably.
-
A large wooden deck, a Weber grill, a wood-heated hot tub, and a sauna round out the amenities.
-
Yes, the sauna is included in the rental price.
-
Firewood for the hot pot and the ofen is a premium service that we charge for according to our price list. Sourcing and preparing the wood requires a considerable amount of work (cutting, drying, storing), which is why we consider it a luxury item.
You are, of course, free to bring your own wood or purchase it locally. -
The HOUSE has many steps and is, unfortunately, not accessible to wheelchairs or strollers.
We recommend that you take this into account when making your reservation, especially if you have mobility issues or are traveling with young children. -
We provide a crib and high chair upon prior request.
Please note: The HOUSE has many steps due to its historic architecture. For the safety of young children, it is possible to close off certain areas using the existing doors, thereby restricting access to the stairs.
Wine, Commerce, and Gastronomy
-
Since La Clochette also has deep roots in the Bordeaux region (in the Fronsadais area, about 80 km away), we’ve provided a wine cooler stocked with our own natural and organic wines, as well as organic wines from fellow winemakers in the region.
